We are looking for a Groupware Specialist to support our client based in Tallahassee, Florida.

US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.  

This is an onsite position. Candidates must be located in or near Tallahassee, Florida.

The opportunity

Our client, a government agency in Tallahassee, FL, seeks an Groupware Specialist to support the Enterprise Systems team in managing and maintaining the Microsoft 365 environment. The role involves configuring, supporting, monitoring, and maintaining an enterprise Microsoft 365 collaboration environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. This is a full-time, on-site position with work hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM and occasional weekend/on-call responsibilities.

Job duties includes but not limited to:

  • Define business requirements for collaboration tools and assist with implementing groupware applications (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Monitor system health, apply security updates, and perform regular maintenance.
  • Provide technical leadership for designing, developing, and promoting groupware strategies.
  • Deploy and manage team collaboration tools, document sharing, and next-gen messaging clients.
  • Work on multiple projects and support requests, occasionally acting as a project lead.
  • Recommend hardware/software solutions based on business and user needs.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, ongoing need with contract to hire possibility and pay commensurate with experience up $82,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire. 

Qualifications you need

A successful Groupware Specialist has the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
  • 2-4 years of IT experience with Microsoft 365 Administration, Exchange Online, and Teams.
  • Hands-on experience with groupware/messaging technologies and enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Experience in system analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and support activities.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automating administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Intune, and Security & Compliance policies in M365.
  • Understanding of email security, spam filtering, and M365 Defender policies.
  • Experience integrating third-party collaboration tools with Microsoft 365.
