Project Manager – Agile/Scrum

The project
TECKpert is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support our client, a government agency in Washington, DC, with a mission-critical Drupal website migration and modernization project. This role will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of Agile projects in accordance with agency project management practices. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring adherence to federal standards, managing schedules, team, sprints, facilitating reporting, and coordinating across stakeholders.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, manage backlogs, and track progress to ensure timely delivery of milestones
- Coordinate communication among technical teams, stakeholders, and agency leadership, documenting decisions and follow-ups
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues, escalating critical items when needed and ensuring contingency planning
- Prepare weekly and monthly status reports, executive briefings, and dashboards for stakeholders
- Oversee testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring acceptance criteria, accessibility, and security standards are met
- Manage change requests, conduct impact assessments, and maintain scope control throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure project documentation, governance artifacts, and knowledge transfer materials are maintained and up to date
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and SharePoint to monitor schedules, deliverables, risks, and communications
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to cross-functional team members to achieve project objectives
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a contract position with pay commensurate with experience up to $75 per hour.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) required; SAFe Agile or related certifications a plus
- 10+ years of IT project management experience, including 5+ years managing Agile/Scrum projects in enterprise or government environments
- Demonstrated experience leading website or CMS modernization projects, preferably with Drupal or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks and compliance requirements, including federal PMO standards, and Agile best practices
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risks across complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Skilled in preparing executive-level reports, dashboards, and briefings for senior leadership
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint)
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills with ability to work across technical and business teams
- U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident; able to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance
