The Opportunity

Our client, a government agency in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking a Senior ETL Developer to join its Data Services team. This position is a staff augmentation role focused on supporting cloud-based data integration initiatives and modernizing legacy mainframe systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating business needs into robust data integration solutions, designing and managing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), and ensuring the reliable delivery of accurate and consistent data across diverse platforms.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica IDMC capabilities, including cloud data integration.
• Ensure reliable delivery of accurate, consistent, and governed data across various platforms like relational databases and mainframe flat files.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to document reporting and analytics requirements and validate integrated data.
• Support real-time and batch data flows.
• Conduct data modeling for cloud data warehousing.
• Optimize performance and quality enforcement through modular pipeline design and orchestration.
• Convert legacy mainframe (JCL, COOLGEN, COBOL, FOCUS, WebFOCUS) code into modern IDMC data integration workflows.
• Analyze existing legacy logic, reports, and data flows to identify transformation requirements.
• Rearchitect and implement equivalent functionality within cloud-native environments using IDMC tools.
• Prototype, build, and test extraction, transformation, and load (ETL or ELT) jobs.
• Analyze transactional data stores and develop data warehouse models to optimize for reporting and analytics.
• Create designs, diagrams, and documents to support data integration and data warehouse solutions.
• Ensure data warehouse metadata is collected and maintained.
• Coach and mentor peers in data warehousing concepts and tool usage.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of methods and practices documentation.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $158,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful candidate has the following experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Equivalent work experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Minimum of 7 years of IT work experience utilizing data management tools, business intelligence tools, and data warehousing.
• 7 years of experience in Data Warehousing and Data Integration.
• 4 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and Informatica on-prem solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts.
• Ability to model transactional data for data warehousing usage.
• Knowledge of and skill in Snowflake cloud data warehouse functionality.
• Extensive knowledge of and expert skill in use of Informatica PowerCenter Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of and skill in Informatica Data Quality functionality.
• Knowledge of and skill in Informatica Data Catalog functionality.
• Knowledge of and skill in Power BI, Tableau, and other reporting tools functionality.
• Knowledge of and skill in relational database platforms including DB2, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Familiarity with scripting languages.
• Expertise in legacy data retrieval methods, report logic translation, and integration design.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent customer service, decision-making, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and apply quality assurance principles.
