The Opportunity
TECKpert is seeking an experienced Data Architect to support TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is responsible for designing and implementing an enterprise data integration framework that modernizes and unifies large-scale data assets across financial, engineering, and operational domains. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enterprise data architecture, cloud-based data platforms, data governance, and ETL orchestration in complex public-sector environments.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assess current-state enterprise data systems to identify data silos, schema inconsistencies, integration gaps, and governance issues
- Design and implement an enterprise data integration framework supporting scalable analytics and interoperability
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple enterprise domains
- Define canonical data models, schemas, and integration standards
- Design and implement ETL and ELT pipelines using modern data integration tools
- Orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory, Informatica, and Snowflake
- Design RESTful APIs and service endpoints to enable data exchange across systems
- Integrate spatial and GIS data with enterprise engineering and financial datasets
- Establish data governance, metadata standards, lineage tracking, and stewardship models
- Implement data quality monitoring processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Ensure alignment with cloud-first architecture and security standards
- Produce technical documentation including data dictionaries, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to cross-functional teams
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $195,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Analyst in enterprise environments
- 10+ years working with large-scale database management systems
- Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data models and ETL processes
- Strong experience with Azure, Snowflake, Informatica, and PostgreSQL
- Proven experience with cloud-based data integration and architecture
- Expertise in SQL and data modeling techniques (relational and dimensional)
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
- Experience integrating APIs and service-based data architectures
- Familiarity with financial data systems and enterprise reporting platforms
- • Experience with DB2 systems
- • Experience with state or public-sector financial systems
- • Experience with GIS and spatial data integration
- • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
