The Opportunity
TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Florida, is seeking a Network Support Technician, Intermediate, to support enterprise network and infrastructure operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network and server environments to ensure availability, performance, and security across the organization. The position serves as an escalation point for complex network issues and works closely with infrastructure, server, and application teams.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, cabling, and supporting systems
- Install, configure, maintain, and support physical servers used for network and infrastructure services
- Administer virtual server environments including provisioning, maintenance, performance monitoring, and high-availability configurations
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for complex network and infrastructure incidents
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network outages, performance degradation, and configuration issues
- Install, configure, and support network devices including switches, wireless access points, and related infrastructure
- Support secure access controls, file server permissions, DFS configurations, and group-based access controls
- Document configurations, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions in accordance with standards
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional infrastructure and application issues
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware support, maintenance, and repairs
- Participate in network refreshes, wireless upgrades, server replacements, and modernization initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to other technicians
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, repairs, and vendor interactions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $62,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant network and infrastructure experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Relevant experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis
- Enterprise network infrastructure
- Virtual server platforms (Hyper-V, HCI)
- Network switches and wireless access points
- File servers, access control lists, and group permissions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, stoop, squat, crawl, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
